Located in South Pike Square just off of route 356 in Sarver, Pennsylvania, we offer classes for students
ages 2 through teens. Our youngest students participate in our "Squiggly Bugs" class which is a beginning tumble / gross
motor skills class for 2-3 year olds accompanied by a parent. This is part of our 6 week class option. The 6 week classes are offered as an alternative to our 10 month class season. This allows young students to sample some of our classes to see where they have the most interest...or if they like everything! (which is usually the case)
Students are encouraged to learn at their own pace in a positive, inspiring class environment.
Older students may choose the classes they prefer...ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical, Irish Step,
pointe, gymnastics, cheerleading, piano, guitar. We have convenient times available for today's busy families.
Many of our students have siblings taking classes at the same time, or on the same day.
We have locations in Butler and Sarver, Pa.

If there''s one thing that a child can fascinate you with, it's what she can do with her imagination. A child's mind is like that of a creative writer, it can bring her to all the places she wants to be in, whether it's in a magic forest or in a fairy tale castle; it allows her to become whoever she wants to be. A ballerina, veterinarian or scientist; and it enables her to do whatever things she likes to do: fly, have an imaginary tea party, or turn objects into beautiful flowers or hats.
But your child's imagination is not wild all the time. As a parent, it is up to you to always encourage her to let her imagination soar. Here are some exciting ways that will help you promote an active and creative imagination in your child.
1. Incite your child's imagination through play. A child's life typically revolves around play because this is how she acquires the basic skills she needs to flourish as an individual which includes the use of her own unique imagination. Spark her imagination by engaging her in imaginative pretend plays. Help her become the princess she wants to be by helping her create her princess costume. For boys...think superhero! At Dance & Play USA, we make learning fun! Students learn technique and combinations through the use of stories and fun challenges. Group interaction is encouraged as students create lifelong friendships.
2. Provide art projects or enroll your child in classes that will encourage her to create using her imagination. While drawing and painting are excellent ways to incite her creative imagination, it is also a very good idea to provide her with extracurricular art activities in which she will have to create artworks using found objects, discarded or unusual materials. For example, invite her to create paper princess crowns and magic wands. Dance & Play USA offers a Princess Dance Class that sparks these kinds of creative skills while inspiring creative movement ideas. Music lessons are also a proven way to enhance creative learning and increase IQ levels. Learning to read music, and learning ballet vocabulary are like learning a new language, which expands a childs knowledge base.
3. Provide your child with toys and play things that will let her imagination to fly high. Listening to the music that is played during our dance classes
while playing "make believe" ballerina, or grown up lets a young dancer's imagination soar! We make this easy for you by providing links
on our music page to music we use during our dance class sesssions. Your child will love listening to the music that has been played during our classes while they are at home! This way, they will "practice" their dance skills without even realizing it! What fun! With our music lessons, we encourage our students to learn to play the music they love. Practicing their instrument and rehearsing becomes a fun activity for them...excellerating learning while developing technical skills and aesthetic appreciation.
4. Parental support and guidance are also key ingredients in stirring your child's lively imagination. If your child shows you her ballet "moves" and relates her interpretation of the "ballet words" she has learned, show a sincere interest and absolute delight! Correct technique and perfect performance are
not realistic goals for young dancers. At Dance & Gym USA, we like to keep them moving and let them experience the joy of dance while letting them relish their in creative endeavors and personal input!
(Look for ballet terminology on our Fun Stuff Pages!)
Budding musicians love to have a captive audience. Expect to hear some sour notes when your child first begins to play and instrument. This will improve as time goes on...remember what music is all about...learning to "play" an instrument. Learning music should be "play" time...fun with disciplined guidance.
5. Related to the fourth tip in sparking your kid''s imagination is this is fifth and final tip which asks you to participate in your child's creative activities. Be the best audience member at your child's plays, recitals, or ball games! Encouraging creative activities in your child is a good bonding exercise that will not only allow you to get closer to your child but will also bring out the kid in you!
We've been making kids happy for almost 30 years!
